The New Rumors of things soon to come

I haven’t been in the cavern much lately. My sister, fachia, checked in a few times, though. I did get to attend the first book club meeting for Myss Terrie’s Bevin. It was really nice, even though there was only three of us. It’s a start though. I think we’ll end up having the meetings around the middle of the month. Fachia’s excited about it. She hopes to be able to use her bevin as a meeting place for fiction and non-fiction writers.

The DRC is gearing up to open more pubs for the guilds. We think there will not be an age to explore for at least another month. This is bringing mixed reactions from explorers. We keep getting promised to have more ages available to us, but it doesn’t happen. I realize restoration takes awhile and that there are a lot of things to be covered before an age can be declared safe to explore. Even the DRC is subject to red tape.

I respect the DRC, Yeesha, and the other explorers - and know they have good intentions, but wonder who to really trust.

The DRC is going through internal struggles, the bahro are fighting one another and we are in danger of being in the middle, and it seems that the very people who are able to let us know what’s going on from Yeesha disappear after making small announcements and dropping hints of things to come.

We’ve been told someone else will return. Many speculate that it will be Dr. Watson or even Engberg.

We’ve had hints of deception about ... but not from whom. Who is really the controlling force here? Who can we truly believe? I cannot tell.

Some explorers are upset that there are no new ages opening soon - that we’re being told about. Others are cautiously trusting the DRC on this matter. Even for them, it’s taking a lot of control to keep their faith in the DRC.

My conspiracy theories have not been abated, although Phil’s appearance has helped. I am not that angry at Sharper, but I do not believe he should be allowed loose to make his own decisions, especially with a gun. Phil had better be talking some sense into this guy, if the DRC will not ban him from the cavern and ages.

And that still bothers me - why the DRC doesn’t ban him. They have an agenda involving him and I’m not satisfied that they are not hiding it from us. Something is wrong there. Not sure what ... maybe that’s the deception we’re getting leaks about.

What if it’s Sharper who deceiving? Whatever agenda the DRC has for keeping Sharper around - whatever agreement they made with him - he could be breaking it. He was never a strong DRC person and refused to be a member or even considered one of them. And he did become overwhelmed by Yeesha during the journey and close to Phil before his disappearance. What if he is in some arrangement with the DRC and he goes against it now?

I don’t believe the deception will come from the DRC - they’ve always done whatever they need to do for funding. Although, having an arrangement with Sharper against the wishes of the explorers could be construed as deception.

The guilds could be a good thing or a bad thing. If the guild pubs are open to all and if the guild members are friendly and welcoming and forthright with all, it could be a good thing. I hope so. There’s enough speculation on how bad it could turn out, but not from me. I prefer to learn more about them first.

Myss Terrie’s Bevin have enacted their own guilds - I’m a member of two. They are internal guilds only for the Bevin, but others have taken offense to them.

One of the arguments is that it’s disrespectful to the DRC because they have the guild structure. If we were using those guilds for purposes outside of the bevin, where they interfere with other structures, then I’d agree. But we’re not. It’s for our bevin and our bevin mates’ benefits only.

Another argument about this from me is that there are explorers who wanted to form the guilds themselves in the cavern and tried going through the appropriate channels to get DRC approval. They never got it. And then the next thing they know, the DRC announces that they are forming guilds within the cavern - without even letting these folks know.

Now I call that disrespectful.

Far fetched conspiracy theories - pt. 1

Recent events have really been spurring my imagination. I’ve seen way too much X-files, The Twilight Zone, and conspiracy shows on the surface for my own good. LOL

Events that are happening seem to be pieces of one gigantic puzzle. Each event/item is one piece.

Cate Armstrong: Cate seems to be running the DRC, or thinks she is. She’s pompous, rude, and very proud. She looks down on anyone who questions her or wants to know more. At first I thought it was Sydney and just Sydney causing the problems at the first chatlog I read. I was pissed at Sydney for not shutting up. I wanted facts and details from the DRC and it seemed that Sydney’s lack of manners ruined the chances of getting any. But then I witnessed another chatlog where Cate didn’t have to deal with a difficult audience member, and she was just as evasive and gave no real details. Then to see a private chatlog where she was rude herself was just icing. The facts of Cate that make up this piece are that she feels she has all this right to be this way because she’s ‘bringing in the money’. She emphasizes that with the fact that she gets two votes.

First theory element: Cate’s bringing the money and she’s got a controlling vote situation with the DRC. Whose money is she bringing in? And what is she promising for the money? Could be many things.

Douglas Sharper: This man is a researcher and hunter. Isn’t DRC, but seems to do a lot of their bidding. Why? He’s arrogant and hot headed. Doesn’t cooperate with the DRC, conspires against them at times, and doesn’t take instructions well. He’s closer to Cate than others. He’s intent on what he considers his mission, but it’s tearing his sanity apart at the same time. What is the motivation?

Second theory element: Here, I’m tying Sharper in with Cate, because there’s something going on. I don’t think it’s relationship wise, although I can’t rule it out. I don’t see Sharper doing something just because ‘his woman’ wants it done. He’s too rebellious and independent for that. Rather, I think Cate’s either got something on him that would ruin his life, or she’s using him for a great reward.

Bahro: They’ve been here all along. They’re not beings that truly have threatened the DRC, so why is the DRC threatened by them now and using them as an excuse? Wheely died a tragic death - the bahro are blamed - not by confirmation of facts and investigation, but more through association and speculation. A bahro was there with Wheely, that much we know for sure. What killed her and why, we do not have definitive proof of. At least none that the DRC will give us. Why not? What is their motive in that? If it was a tragic death by a bahro - and intentional - they would be very forthcoming in presenting the facts rather than let the explorers’ imaginations do it for them. Based on the DRC’s withholding of evidence, I’m betting the bahro did not kill her - at least not directly. So what is the DRC up to in relation to the bahro?

Third theory element: Tying in the bahro to Cate and Sharper, this makes for an option. Cate is using Sharper to help with the money situation. She’s bringing money in. At my home on the surface, we have lots of beautiful farmland with large forested areas. It’s prime hunting land, and doctors and lawyers from the big cities are buying the land up like crazy. What if Noloben is in the same situation? Either Sharper is supposed to collect trophies for those rich contributors, or he’s to act as a guide to the rich hunters. In return, they are financing restoration projects.

Noloben: What’s going on there? The bahro evidently want us to go there and help them with something. Cate and Sharper do not want us going there at all.

Fourth theory element: Cate does not want explorers to know what’s going on in Noloben. Sharper is her pawn in pulling this off - which would explain his loss of emotional stability that seems to be growing worse.

Finally joined Myss Terrie's Bevin Monday. Yippee! What a nice bunch of people. I've been able to meet some other nice people outside of the bevin also. Slow going, cause I'm naturally an introvert. But it's so much nicer being able to explore when I know there are friends close by.

Mainly this week, I'm going around trying to remember tidbits of information that I forgot or think of areas where there's something I didn't catch before. Clues to what's going, what's coming, and this whole Bahro war or split theory.

Seems to me there should be more significant than just getting a Relto donut to Minkata. I looked at the flags and tried to see if a clue came to me about those. Two have numbers on them, but can't grasp if it's significant. Also, the westward flags keep taunting me. It's like there's something important about those. They almost are set up like a starting and/or finishing line.

Haven't measured distance between the flags, but I really don't think that would help me if I don't have an inkling of what they mean. And they may not really mean anything - their purpose expired long ago. Thinking about exploring the caves again too.

Finally was able to get my KI fixed Friday. So happy!! I've finished calibrating my KI, picked up the new relto page, and went to Minkata. I also found my sparkly this weekend. My Relto is getting so busy. LOL

Minkata is very interesting, but not much going on there. I've almost completed the missions. I have the fourth cave yet to find. Tried numerous times and I've checked my destination figures. I think I'm ending up a little to the right or left of it and just haven't been able to pinpoint it because it's where the duststorm has visible distance down to feet.

I should spend some time and copy down the bahro glyphs/writing on the stones. It could mean something. I also wonder if the DRC is going to add something in Minkata or if there's more that no one's found yet. There is something else to this age ... I know it.

Exploring this weekend was fun, but I sure wish the people I was looking for were around the same time as I was. I really need to make friends before the next age opens up. Myss Terrie's Bevin is so empty whenever I'm around - and no one I met before and want to get to know better are anywhere else I've looked. It's complicated when a couple of the bevins don't show up all the time on the nexus.

If I don't find anyone to help me join Myss Terrie's Bevin this week, I'm going to look into Jazz's or Amber Horizons Bevins. They were the other two that I liked and where I think I'd be ok staying neutral.

Sadly Stranded on the Surface

Ever since the first of the DRC's "SCARS" happenings I've been stranded on the surface. It sucks. I so wanted to be involved in something this time. My KI's bust and I can't go below at all ...

I had just made the first contact with Myss Terrie's Bevin forum to join too. And I planned on joining the bevin the next time I was in.

I've been still studying more, but truth be known, it's really starting to suck without being able to explore in the meantime. I'm really getting discouraged.

I have techs trying to help me with my KI and such, but it doesn't look promising.

Hopefully there will be good news soon...

May 12, 2007

This week's explorations have been interesting. I've met a few more explorers in the cavern and bevins. I've started adding a few to my buddy list so I can find them if I need to.

My KI is working better, although it still won't register a private link to Myss Terrie's Bevin or even the invitation message. I will be back in the cavern later today and maybe it will show up now. Not sure what the problem is there.

When I'm not exploring or working at the office, I write fiction. Studying the D'ni has really inspired me on my fiction. My world now has its own number and alphabet system. I find myself paying more attention to details also. My culture and world is a lot different than the D'ni ages, but that hasn't stopped the D'ni from inspiring me.

I need to find or make my own timeline though. The histories seem to suggest centuries at times and thousands of years at others. I think I'm just studying items out of order and that's the reason. If I made better notes that probably would help.

I've managed to convince my sister, Fachia, to come in to the cavern. That will be fun.

I only completed one GZ mission today. My KI is really acting up. It does that when there are a lot of other KIs around.

Didn't see any explorers I've made friends with today. I did refer one person to Jazz. This explorer was new to the D'ni restoration and exploration and really confused. He was calling for help in the Greeters Bevin, but no greeters were around. I answered his questions as best as I could, but due to my continued KI issues I don't think I got far.

Maybe I'll get rich and can afford a new KI. LOL
